Micro Movie Marathon\"\"<\/a><\/h2>\n

What<\/h2>\n

M33M is a biannual festival of 3 minute movies<\/strong> made by people in and around Northern Michigan.<\/p>\n

The acronym M33M (aka Micro Movie Marathon) is derived as follows: Michigan Movie Makers (M3) + 3 Minutes (3M) = M33M.<\/p>\n

All genres are welcome<\/strong> \u2013 trailers for longer projects, sneak previews, short form narrative, mini documentaries, spoofs, show reels, experimental, beyond category, commercials, promotional, pure art, animation \u2013 s\u2019all good!<\/p>\n

Who<\/h2>\n

All Northern Michigan Movie Makers <\/strong>are encouraged to enter<\/strong>, including entrepreneurs, artists, students and enthusiasts. It might seem counter intuitive to lump together a hodgepodge of expertise and motivations, but a vital community is diverse! We are are an\u2026<\/p>\n

Ecosystem?!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

We may have different reasons for making movies, but we all contribute to a vibrant production community. If an oak is an acorn\u2019s way of making more acorns, could a mentor be a prot\u00e9g\u00e9\u2019s way of making more prot\u00e9g\u00e9s? Experience and experimentation are complementary.

Everyone can and should enter a 3 minute movie.<\/strong>

Why<\/h2>\n

The pragmatic and essential outcome will be\u00a0 to create an immediate and accessible inventory of the community<\/strong>, of our collective movie making talent and resources.<\/p>\n

Movie making is (usually) collaborative. Before initiating robust collaborations, we need to know who is out there and what they are doing. The spectrum of Northern Michigan movie makers include entrepreneurs, artists, students, enthusiasts and innumerable hybrids. If everyone<\/strong> entered a 3 minute movie into the Micro Movie Marathon, we\u2019d be well on our way to a comprehensive and accessible inventory of our community.\u00a0 This would be a real asset for future projects \u2013 whether you\u2019re an Oscar Winner or YouTube hero.<\/p>\n
