An abrupt and inelegant method of showcasing your vision, but available for those who just can&#8217;t or won&#8217;t cut a longer movie down. Feel the love.<\/li>\n<li>Movies must be made by people who were in, from or dreaming about Northern Michigan during production &#8211; including residents and visitors. Northern Michigan includes any place north of <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?q=Grand+Rapids,+MI&amp;hl=en&amp;ll=42.940339,-85.693359&amp;spn=61.037186,99.580078&amp;sll=44.314844,-85.602364&amp;sspn=15.105788,24.89502&amp;gl=us&amp;t=h&amp;z=4&amp;iwloc=A\">Grand Rapids<\/a> including the UP.<\/li>\n<li>Optional but highly recommended &#8211;\u00a0 Make a separate movie with a still or moving image of the main movie maker(s) with name(s) in lower third, 5 seconds long followed by 3 seconds of black\/silence. This intro will precede your entry(s).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Up to 60 3 minute movies will be selected for the Micro Movie Marathon. Michigan Movie Makers reserves the right to reject any movie we dang well feel like rejecting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We&#8217;re using YouTube to both enter and screen most of the movies. If you don&#8217;t already have a YouTube account, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/create_account?next=%2F\">sign up for free<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>YouTube entries should be HD (if you&#8217;re original movie is HD) and posted as &#8220;<strong>unlisted<\/strong>&#8221; . Label the DVD with title of the movie, running time, your name and contact info including phone and email.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NEW<\/strong> &#8211; We are screening DVDs delivered by 5:00 on the day of the Micro Movie Marathon (July 20 by 5:00 pm) <strong>ONLY IF<\/strong> we receive an email for the entry by the deadline (July 18, 12:59pm). No exceptions. Hand delivery just leave it by the front door.<\/p>\n<p>If you have questions call Dan 231 882-0460 or Patrick 231 944-4758.<\/p>\n<h2>What<\/h2>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">M33M is a half day festival of <strong>3 minute movies<\/strong> made by people in and around Northern Michigan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">M33M is derived as follows: Michigan Movie Makers (M3) + Micro Movie Marathon or 3 Minutes (3M) = M33M.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>All genres are welcome<\/strong> &#8211; trailers for longer projects, sneak previews, short form narrative, mini documentaries, spoofs, show reels, experimental, beyond category, commercials, promotional, pure art, animation &#8211; s&#8217;all good!<\/p>\n<h2>Who<\/h2>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>All Northern Michigan Movie Makers <\/strong><strong>are encouraged to enter<\/strong>, including professionals, students and enthusiasts. It might seem counter intuitive to lump together all levels of experience and expertise, but a vital community is diverse! We are are an&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: center;\"><strong>Ecosystem?!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">From the professional perspective, students and enthusiasts are potential volunteers and interns and a source of fresh perspectives and outrageous schemes. From the student viewpoint, professionals are mentors and advisors, and enthusiasts a potential army of grunts\/extras with inspiring and highly practical ideas. From the enthusiast perspective, professionals and students represent experience and resources that can be re-purposed to realize their mad dreams.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Everyone can and should enter a 3 minute movie.<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Why<\/h2>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The pragmatic and essential outcome will be\u00a0 to <strong>create an immediate and accessible inventory of the community<\/strong>, of our collective movie making talent and resources.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Movie making is (usually) collaborative. Before initiating robust collaborations, we need to know who is out there and what they are doing. The spectrum of Northern Michigan movie makers includes professionals, students and enthusiasts.
